Can I Redirect Different Products to Different Pages?
Yes, redirecting different products to different pages is one of ThankRedirect’s core features. You can set up as many product-specific redirect rules as you need, each pointing to a different destination.
How to Set It Up
In ThankRedirect settings, you can create multiple Product Redirect rules. Each rule lets you select one or more products and set a destination page or URL.
For example:
- “Premium Course” → redirect to
/course-welcome/ - “Annual Membership” → redirect to
/members-dashboard/ - “Physical T-Shirt” → use global redirect (falls through to catch-all)
See Redirect by Specific Product for step-by-step instructions.
What About Categories?
If you’d rather not set up rules for each individual product, you can set redirect rules at the category level instead. All products in a category will share the same redirect destination. New products you add to that category are automatically covered.
See Redirect by Product Category for details.
What Happens When an Order Has Multiple Products?
When a customer buys multiple products in one order and those products have different redirect rules, ThankRedirect uses the first matching rule it finds. The priority order is:
- Product variation *(Pro)*
- Product type *(Pro)*
- Product tag *(Pro)*
- Product brand *(Pro)*
- Payment method *(Pro)*
- User role *(Pro)*
- Product redirect ← checked here
- Category redirect
- Global redirect
If an order contains “Premium Course” and “Physical T-Shirt”, and only “Premium Course” has a product redirect rule, the customer goes to the course welcome page. The T-shirt doesn’t override it.
Can I Redirect Based on Product Variations?
Yes, with Pro. If you sell a product with variations (e.g., “Membership – Basic” and “Membership – Pro”), you can set different redirect destinations for each specific variation. See Redirect by Product Variation.
Is There a Limit to How Many Rules I Can Create?
There is no hard limit on the number of redirect rules you can create. You can set up rules for as many products, categories, or other criteria as your store needs.
Pro tip: For large catalogues, use category-level redirects as the base and only create product-level rules for the exceptions. This is much easier to maintain — you’re managing a handful of category rules instead of hundreds of product rules.
