Using the Flipbox Shortcode in Posts & Pages

The Flipbox shortcode is the most flexible way to display a flip box — you can paste it into any post, page, template, or widget that supports shortcodes in WordPress.

The Shortcode Format

The primary shortcode is:

[oxilab_flip_box id="1"]

Replace 1 with the ID of the flip box you want to display.

Where to Find the ID

The ID is shown on the Flipbox home screen next to each flip box, and it’s embedded in the shortcode chip shown there. Simply click the chip to copy the full shortcode to your clipboard.

Using the Shortcode in the Block Editor (Gutenberg)

  1. Open the post or page you want to edit.
  2. Click the + button to add a new block.
  3. Search for Shortcode and add the Shortcode block.
  4. Paste your shortcode: [oxilab_flip_box id="1"]
  5. Click Update or Publish.

Note: The flip box won’t render visually inside the Gutenberg editor — you’ll just see the shortcode text. The actual flip box will appear when you view the page on the front end. Click “Preview” to see it live.

Using the Shortcode in the Classic Editor

If you’re using the Classic Editor plugin:

  1. Open the post or page.
  2. In the content area, click where you want the flip box to appear.
  3. Paste the shortcode directly: [oxilab_flip_box id="1"]
  4. Update or Publish the page.

Using the Shortcode in a Text Widget

Shortcodes are supported inside WordPress Text widgets:

  1. Go to Appearance → Widgets.
  2. Add a Text widget to a widget area.
  3. Paste the shortcode inside the text widget’s content area.
  4. Save.

WordPress processes shortcodes inside text widgets automatically.

Using the Shortcode in PHP Templates

If you’re a developer and need to embed a flip box directly in a PHP template file (e.g., single.php, page.php), use the do_shortcode() function:

<?php echo do_shortcode('[oxilab_flip_box id="1"]'); ?>

This renders the flip box in any PHP template location where you have access to the WordPress loop or template functions.

The Visual Composer Shortcode

There is a second shortcode specifically registered for WPBakery Visual Composer:

[oxilab_flip_box_VC id="1"]

Both shortcodes (oxilab_flip_box and oxilab_flip_box_VC) display the same flip box and work interchangeably in most contexts. The VC variant is registered specifically to integrate with WPBakery’s element library.

Displaying Multiple Flip Boxes on One Page

You can use multiple shortcodes on a single page — each displaying a different flip box:

[oxilab_flip_box id="1"]

[oxilab_flip_box id="3"]

[oxilab_flip_box id="7"]

Each flip box loads only its own styles and scripts, keeping the page as lightweight as possible.

Using the Same Flip Box on Multiple Pages

You can use the same shortcode on as many pages as you like. When you update the flip box content in the Flipbox plugin editor, all pages using that shortcode update automatically — you only need to edit the content in one place.

Pro Tip: This “one source, many displays” approach is ideal for sections like a services overview or team block that appears across multiple pages. Update once, reflects everywhere.
