Adding Content to the Back Face

The back face of a flip box is revealed when a visitor hovers over (or taps on mobile). This is where you put the details — a description, a call-to-action button, or additional context that wouldn’t fit on the front.

The back face has three content elements: description text, a button, and an optional background image.

Back Description (Info Text)

The back description is the main body of text on the back face. Use it to explain your service, describe a team member, list the features of a product, or give any information you want to share after the user shows interest by hovering.

How to Set It

  1. Open the item editor for the card you want to edit.
  2. Find the Back Description field (sometimes labeled “Info Text” or “Back Info”).
  3. Type or paste your text.

Examples:

  • “We build beautiful, fast, and mobile-friendly websites tailored to your brand.”
  • “Sarah has 10 years of experience in UX design and loves turning complex problems into simple solutions.”
  • “Includes 5 pages, contact form, and 1 year of free support.”

Styling the Description

In the style settings (Back Face section), you can customize:

  • Font family, size, weight, and style
  • Text color
  • Text alignment
  • Padding (top, bottom, left, right): controls space between the text and the edges
  • Margin (top, bottom, left, right): controls how far the text sits from neighboring elements

Pro Tip: Keep back descriptions concise — 1 to 3 sentences is ideal. The flip box format encourages quick, digestible content, not long paragraphs.

Button

The button on the back face is a call-to-action that links visitors somewhere — a page, a form, a product, or an external URL.

How to Set It

  1. In the item editor, find the Button Text field and enter your button label (e.g., “Learn More”, “Book a Call”, “View Project”).
  2. In the Button Link field, enter the full URL the button should go to (e.g., https://yoursite.com/contact).
  3. The link target (same tab vs. new tab) is controlled globally in the General settings — not per item. See Understanding the Flipbox Editor.

Styling the Button

You can style the button in the Back Face settings panel:

  • Button text color and background color
  • Hover state: different text color and background on mouse-over
  • Font size, family, weight
  • Padding (top and left): controls button inner spacing
  • Border radius: round the button corners (0 = square, higher = more rounded)
  • Text alignment

Back Background Image

You can set a background image for the back face of each card. This adds a visual layer behind your description text and button.

How to Set It

  1. In the item editor, find the Back Image field.
  2. Click Upload to select or upload an image from the WordPress media library.

Tips for Back Background Images

  • Use a semi-transparent back background color (with low opacity) over the image so text stays readable
  • Dark overlay + light text is a clean, professional combination
  • Images with less detail (gradients, blurs, patterns) work better than busy photos

What If You Don’t Want a Button?

Simply leave the Button Text and Button Link fields empty. If those fields are blank, no button will appear on the back face — just the description text (and optional background image).
