System Requirements for Flipbox Plugin

Before installing the Flipbox plugin, make sure your WordPress hosting environment meets the minimum system requirements. This ensures the plugin runs smoothly and without errors.

Minimum Requirements

Requirement Minimum Version Recommended
WordPress 6.2 Latest version
PHP 7.4 8.1 or higher
MySQL 5.6 8.0 or higher
Browser (admin) Any modern browser Chrome, Firefox, Safari (latest)

How to Check Your WordPress Version

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. Go to Dashboard → Updates.
  3. Your current WordPress version is displayed at the top of the page.

You can also see it at the bottom of any WordPress admin page (e.g., “WordPress 6.5.3”).

How to Check Your PHP Version

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Tools → Site Health.
  2. Click the Info tab.
  3. Expand the Server section.
  4. Look for PHP version.

Alternatively, contact your hosting provider and ask them which PHP version your site is running. Most hosts allow you to change the PHP version from your hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc.).

Browser Compatibility (Frontend)

The flip box effects and animations on your website work in all modern browsers:

  • Google Chrome (latest)
  • Mozilla Firefox (latest)
  • Safari (latest)
  • Microsoft Edge (latest)
  • Mobile browsers (iOS Safari, Android Chrome)

Note: Internet Explorer is not supported. IE was retired by Microsoft in 2022 and represents a negligible fraction of web traffic. All modern browsers handle Flipbox animations perfectly.

Hosting Recommendations

Flipbox works on virtually any WordPress-compatible hosting, including shared hosting, VPS, and managed WordPress hosting. For the best experience:

  • Use a host that supports PHP 8.0+ for better performance and security
  • Ensure your server has outbound internet access (needed for license activation and Google Fonts loading)
  • If using a caching plugin, clear the cache after making changes to your flip boxes

What If My Server Doesn’t Meet the Requirements?

If your WordPress or PHP version is below the minimum:

  • Update WordPress: Go to Dashboard → Updates and click Update Now. Updating WordPress is safe and takes only a minute.
  • Upgrade PHP: Contact your hosting provider or update the PHP version from your hosting control panel. Moving from PHP 7.x to 8.x is generally straightforward and improves your site’s overall performance.

Still stuck? Your hosting provider’s support team can help you update PHP in just a few steps.
